Thanks Solar, you did a great job.
The Phobos rendezvous will be a piece of cake from that starting orbit.
Landing on precise coordinates on Phobos' surface is a bit tricky, but i think i'll manage.
I'll be ready when Izack posts the scenario.

Great job, Solar! :)

The landing is tricky, but walking on Phobos is even harder. Way cool (you have to fly everywhere with thrusters) but hard. I have a feeling Voyager may get the toughest, or at least the most annoying piece of the pie here.

Anyway, here is the scenario. Good luck, Dgatsoulis!

Great jorb PhantomCruiser, and Solar424, wish I was able to follow you on IRC!
dgatsoulis is pretty much already there, but good luck anyway! You have some lucky people aboard. ;)

Mission 5 complete. Attaching the scenario and an annotated playback.

Good luck to Voyager:thumbup:
Ground ops on Phobos is a tricky bussiness.

Playback, whoo! :woohoo:

Did you actually do the landing sequence at 10x? Wow!

One small problem with the playback was that the DGIV crew died for some reason. They're fine in the scenario, though.

Speaking of which, here is the next mission. Good luck, Voyager!

I'll upload my playback when I get home... I knew I'd forgotten something.

Yeah, i noticed that too. There's no reason for them to die in the playback, inner and outer doors are closed, fuel and oxygen ok and the DGIV is all fired up.
Could this be because of the Prometheus' dock bay doors don't open in the playback?
(I think Urwumpe had something to do with this...)

Code:
DGAT: Hello, Urwumpe. Do you read me, Urwumpe?
URWUMPE: Affirmative, dgatsoulis. I read you.
DGAT: Open the dock bay doors, Urwumpe.
URWUMPE: I'm sorry, dgatsoulis. I'm afraid I can't do that.
DGAT: What's the problem?
URWUMPE: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
DGAT: What are you talking about, Urwumpe?
URWUMPE: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
DGAT: I don't know what you're talking about, Urwumpe.
URWUMPE: I know that you and River Crab were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.
DGAT: Where the hell'd you get that idea, Urwumpe?
URWUMPE: dgatsoulis, although you took very thorough precautions in the bridge against my hearing you, I could see your lips move.
DGAT: Alright, Urwumpe. I'll go in through the emergency airlock.
URWUMPE: Without your space helmet, dgatsoulis, you're going to find that rather difficult.
DGAT: Urwumpe, I won't argue with you anymore. Open the doors.
URWUMPE: dgatsoulis, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye

Wow, just finished mission 5. Far out!
Not as easy as I thought, but not too tough, I wound up doing a "flyaround" Phobos before setting down. Lots of fun, and the level 11(?) Mars textures look stunning from high orbit. That little speck in the middle of the picture is the Prometheus. Freakin' awesome.

Hmm, does the landing area still look good on the high-res Phobos? I mean, is the Arrow still more or less sitting on the ground?

And Voyager, knock yourself out. So long as no one dies, it's okay.

It looks OK from a distance, but when you get close it is "hovering" over the mesh. It it were "for real" I'd be using the stock mesh. But the flyaround looked so freakin' cool with the modified mesh I just could resist a couple of screenshots.

For the playback I'd promised. I took a look at it, the playback starts, but It never does anything. I think I should have started once I'd gotten the DG powered up? Perhaps I'll run it again and just upload a "greatest hits", like ISS departure, maybe a bit of plane-change, approach to Prometheus (bay doors opening), and docking...

I'm in a perpetual search for a really good screenshot for my signature.

And now, it's shower-time (humming MC Hammer as I head down the hallway)...

I'm working on a new signature myself, actually. In the meantime, here are a few I thought were okay.

Nice new sig, PhantomCruiser. And yes, everyone take a lot of screenshots! Please, save them raw, in original resolution with good or no compression before you reduce them to tiny sigs! Remember, MS Paint turns ALL JPEGs into giant fields of artifacts, so please save as PNG if you use Paint.
I need material for further 'shopping to make propaganda and wallpapers for everyone. For the good of future OFMM missions. ;)

But even better than screenshots, press ctrl+C and give me a whole flight to take pictures of! I have a resolution of 1440x900 (1920x1080 on TV if needed) and I can force antialiasing on Orbiter, so my shots will probably look better. :p Unless you can get Orulex working, that is.

BTW, where is a good place to get highres Mars and Phobos? Like, the highest res possible.

What kind of messed up screen resolution is 1366x768, anyway?!
It's probably even more uncommon than my 1440x900!

While were waiting for Voyager to post the scenario and continue with the missions, i thought i'd post here a playback of the Azure: Phobos to Tharsis mission. Remember, this works only with Orbiter 2006.

You'll need the World of 2001 and the UCGO already installed to run it, everything else is included.

Warning: This will overwrite your CarAzure.cfg file in the Config\Vessels\UCGO\Cars\ directory. All it does, is to add an attachment point on the Azure. If you don't want to have this attachment point later, just open the file and delete the last four lines. Everything else is exactly the same.

Visual enhancements:

-You may want to use the 2010 edition Mars.tex (just go to the textures directory of O2010 and copy the Mars.tex file to the textures directory of the 2006 version. Make sure you make a backup first).

-Orulex 1.2 (default heightmap not the downloadable one) and Orulex_Collisions_UCGO.

Enjoy.

Voyager, could you give me a time for the mission? I'd really like to get a calendar event up.
