Caught a slight typo:
Please rename the folder Config/Calisto to Config/Callisto (double L). ;)
Otherwise the map will not show up.
Maybe a general comment:
Would you consider adding a Config folder in your folder structure?
This would help to ensure the files end up in the right folder...
Very nice! 👍
With the number of new LEO destinations increasing, we should have closer look on their potential orbits.
The inclinations could be:
Due East from the Cape (as in the test orbit here), with the least launch energy, but a coverage of the equatorial area only
ISS co-orbit, which...
That is better than expected! Thank you for your effort!
I just tried Europa in HiRes. It definitely helps to find the way around. Will try the other moons also.
I use the map to locate potentially interesting landing sites on the surface.
Not knowing the script, I guess the sequence how the objects are selected determines the cutting order.
Usually the parent object would go first, then comes the operand (here: the blue mesh).
This way the operand modifies the parent object.
In case you are looking for more work of your VecMapper: ;)
Could you create maps of Jupiters Gallilean moons?
I found a Europa map on the Eso site. It has good contrasts, so it may be usable to trace surface feature lines.
Google found a thread on Animator mesh smoothing here.
I think the best way is this:
It seems that Animators' smoothing options are somehow limited, but you could try the procedure above.
What modelling program do you use?
Do you cut the windows using a boolean operation? That is:
Operand A (here: the shell) - operand B (a box) = Shell with a hole cut.
In my experience, cutting an opening always triggers some creasing of the faces which are cut.
In my modelling program (Gmax)...
Thanks for the new maps!
This time I tried the low-res versions first. I think they are fully sufficient on a global scale.
When zooming in, the simplification of some coastlines or feature lines become visible,
but they are still sufficient to find my way around.
Looks cozy! :)
Maybe you could darken the ambient and specular colors, as the texture brings some 'brightness' with it.
Also: Is this one texture over the whole chair? You could texture each element individually (backrest, seating, footrest) to get a finer grain of the texture.
I tried it and could reach the Orbiter-Textures page, but when clicking on the Links to download the Textures Tree, etc. I also got the message this site cannot be reached.
On short term I suggest to wait until after the weekend. Maybe they are doing some server maintenance, or so.
On the framerate: I run a notebook with an AMD Ryzen 7 with onboard Radeon Graphics.
Framerate (Vsync off) is 170 to 200 fps.
Looks like I have to be more precise on the framerate:
When the MFD is zoomed in by 2 notches: No drop..
When fully zoomed out to the whole planet map, there is indeed a...
Excellent addon!
Previously I had troubles to identify the Valles Marineris or the Tharsis volcanos on the map.
Now I can fly to the most scenic spots using the map.
Also, no negative impact on the frame rate.
How did you do it? Did you use a finer height elevation resolution, or did you create...
